Developing Screenprint 2

I have decided to use elements of my previous 'developing screenprint' experiment, whilst also developing it further.

To begin, I have ripped around the edges of the prints. I wanted a rough, uneven look to the piece as a way to add more depth and character to the piece. I like the unfinished element by tearing the edges, whilst also attempting to represent the uneven and unpredictable feelings people go through.

I decided to keep the lines around the facial features as I think it accentuates the elemts of her face that have been lost through the process of the print.

Inspired from the ceramic pieces, I have also kept the circles as they add more texture to the piece.

Developing further from before, and taking inspiration from the likes of David Carson, I have added text to this piece. I have used words such as 'Anger' 'Funny' 'Happy' and 'Cats' as they are all words I would use to describe the person in the photo.

The fact Neves face is hidden, and more like a blur, led me to thinking deeper about people hiding who they really are. The more I thought about this, the more I was seeing link to media representation. This is why I decided to use newspapers when it came to the words to describe Neve.
