Artist Research: Erwin Wurm

Erwin Wurm is a contemporary artist and is best known for his innovative approach in regards to sculpture. He blends humour and everyday objects. His work focuses on areas such as photography, performance, installatioin and video.

He often manipulates familiar objects such as cars and furniture. He distorts them by doing things such as stretching, flattening or even twisting them into different shapes.

Julian reccommended this artist to me after having a conversation around distroting and msiplacing everysday objects. Erwin Wurm immediately stood out to be with the ideas I had in mind. I wanted to distort images to give them surreal, misplaced elements in an image. I like the way Erwin Wurm uses everyday objects and distorts them in order to create a surreal image.
