Digital Work

After my photography workshop with Julian, I decided to use one of my favourite images to create work on Procreate. I have never really used Procreate before, but I have painted Neve from the image I had taken. I cut away half of Neve's face in order to slightly distort the image. I have decided to use Neve's favourite colours in these experiments.

For the first experiment, I decided to use a variety of techniques. I used paint strokes and a bubble effect to continue the distorted look I was aiming for. I also decided to add pages from an old book in an attempt to create depth and make it more interesting. I don't really like this piece as I think it is boring and doesn't look very impressive. I don't like the composition of this experiment as the proportions look off.

My last two pieces I have found to be more successful. I much prefer the bubble effect opposed to the paint strokes. I think the different size of bubbles creates a sense of depth which I like. I also think the colours of these piece pop and stand out a lot more than the first experiment I had done.

Digital artwork isn't something I would typically do, I prefer to physically make something. However, I would do more things digitally in the future on the rare occasion.
